Ketamine Assisted Therapy for Cocaine Recovery Support:

A Structured Path for Those Ready to Quit

Ketamine Assisted Therapy for Cocaine Recovery Support:

If you are ready to stop using cocaine and looking for a structured, therapy based approach to recovery, Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAT) may offer a new way forward.

For some individuals in early recovery, ketamine assisted psychotherapy may help reduce cravings, increase emotional access, and support relapse prevention work when treatment begins during an evidence aligned recovery window.

This treatment is designed for people who are ready to quit, not for someone actively using at the time of the session.

At Healthy Family 4 Life, every treatment plan is thoughtfully tailored to the client’s unique needs, history, triggers, and recovery goals.

Who Is This Treatment For?

Ketamine Assisted Therapy for cocaine recovery support is best for individuals who:

are ready to stop using cocaine: have had at least 24 to 72 hours without cocaine use: are experiencing cravings or fear of relapse: want a therapy based approach, not medication alone: recognize emotional triggers, trauma, stress, or shame may be contributing to use: are committed to building long term recovery tools

This treatment is especially helpful for individuals who find themselves caught in a cycle of:

stress → craving → use → shame → relapse

The goal is to help interrupt that cycle and create space for healthier choices.

What Does Ketamine Assisted Therapy Feel Like?

This is one of the most common questions people ask.

During psycholytic ketamine sessions, most clients remain awake, able to speak, and actively engaged in therapy.

Many people describe:

feeling calmer:

less emotionally defended:

more open to difficult conversations:

more able to access underlying feelings and triggers

Some clients may experience mild dissociation, a sense of slowed time, or a temporary shift in perspective.

The goal is not to “escape.”

The goal is to create enough emotional space to better understand what is driving the urge to use.

How Quickly Can It Help Cravings?

Some clients begin noticing a shift in cravings and emotional reactivity within the first few sessions.

For others, progress builds gradually across the treatment package.

The most important part is not just the medication, but the therapy work focused on triggers, trauma, emotional pain, and relapse prevention.

What Should You Know Before Starting?

Ketamine medication is prescribed and managed by a licensed medical provider following a separate medical evaluation and clearance process.

My role is to provide:

preparation: psycholytic ketamine assisted psychotherapy:

integration and relapse prevention support

To begin treatment safely and effectively, the client should not be under the influence at the time of the session and should have at least 24 to 72 hours without cocaine use, with a clear intention to stop.

This timing is most closely aligned with current clinical research.

What If I Relapse During Treatment?

Relapse does not mean treatment has failed.

In therapy, relapse becomes important clinical information.

It helps us understand:

what the trigger was:

what happened emotionally beforehand:

what support was missing:

what needs to be strengthened in the treatment plan

This is often where the most important therapeutic work happens.
